Accompanying, over time, the land and the century-old vines I am fortunate to care for.

It is the strong connection with the land where I was born that led me to follow a path of ethical and quiet agriculture, with the main goal of accompanying, over time, the land and the century-old vines I am fortunate to care for.

My name is Luca Depperu Sassu, and this is where my life project begins—one that has led to the creation of authentic wines, aiming to be a pure and distinctive expression of my small territory, Alta Gallura. Let’s drink lightly on the land.

I was twenty-five, working as a surveyor, with no real family tradition in wine and not even a small piece of land to start from.

What I had was a strong desire to build a path that would bring me closer to the land and, like every farmer, become a custodian of my territory.

So, in 2016, taking advantage of one of the few opportunities still present in my region—the lack of generational turnover in agriculture—I began recovering and managing old vineyards.

I am based in the small village of Luras, in the heart of Gallura, the northernmost region of Sardinia, at 500 metres above sea level, at the foot of Mount Limbara.

Here I cultivate my vineyards, which include some native grape varieties that have almost disappeared. My aim is to rediscover, in both a modern and traditional way, a wine culture rooted in distant times.

From the beginning, I have practiced a non-conventional form of agriculture, completely avoiding chemicals and limiting mechanical intervention in the soil. I rely on indigenous yeasts, naturally present on the grapes, to produce these wines—wines that I hope you will enjoy and that, above all, will remind you of my land.
