Podere 45

Podere 45 was founded in 2021 by three siblings—Valentina, Chiara and Gian Piero Saccu—who chose to take care of a small family vineyard of 2 hectares, planted with Vermentino and Cagnulari, in the north-west of Sardinia, in the Nurra area.

The vines are around 25 years old and are located in Baratz, in the municipality of Sassari, about 2.6 km from the sea. They are managed according to integrated pest management practices and grow on two different soil types: a compact red, iron-rich clay and a looser white calcareous clay. These soils ensure a consistent water supply during the growing season and contribute to the structure and elegance of the wines.

In the cellar, intervention is kept to a minimum. A pied de cuve and spontaneous fermentations are followed by ageing carried out entirely in stainless steel.
